Karl Blanchet


Karl Blanchet is an experienced independent editorial feature photographer who photographs stories all over the world. He spends many months away covering various themes in a particular country. Banchet's work is currently distributed through Rea, Contrasto and ZUMA Press. His work has featured in numerous prestigious national and international press, magazines and NGO publications.

Blanchet is member of the international collective of photographers, Luna. In 2003, he published Sommeil de Pagne, a book about patients in a Togo psychiatric hospital (ISBN: 2220053598 Desclee de Brouwer, 2003).

When he's not shooting in-depth photo essays, Blanchet continues his studies a research fellow in the Health Policy Unit of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. His current research work focuses on sustainability issues. Karl is also currently working for diverse NGOs as an international consultant in public health.
