John Pendygraft


John Pendygraft is a staff photographer for the St. Petersburg Times. He has a degree in anthropology with a concentration in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas Austin.

Pendygraft went to New Orleans in the immediate aftermath after Hurricane Katrina and spent one week documenting the human tragedy associated with the storm. He also spent several days covering Hurricane Wilma in south Florida.

A veteran who is used to working under difficult circumstances, Pendygraft was embedded with HMM-365 Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron at the start of the war in Iraq and has made several trips to the Middle East.
