John Davenport


As the son of a television and radio journalist, the quest to uncover pivotal elements of a story runs in the blood of John Gordon Davenport.

Since graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984, Davenport focused his career on newspaper photojournalism. He first signed-on with the San Antonio Express-News and later moved to the Houston Chronicle for a few years before returning to the Express-News where he continues to work as a staff photojournalist today. Davenport has traveled to Central America, Europe, Asia and other corners of the globe covering major news stories for the Express-News.

His work has earned recognition the Associated Press, the National Headliners Club, the National Press Photographer's Association, and other state and national journalism organizations.
