Elisabeth Flores


A native of southeastern New Mexico, Elizabeth Flores graduated from Tatum High School in New Mexico in 1989 and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire in 1995.

She interned at the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press during the summer of 1996. After a brief job stint at the St. Cloud (Minn.) Times, Flores-Joles became a staff photographer at the Eau Claire (Wis.) Leader-Telegram, then joined the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where she has been a staff photographer for three years.

Her work has taken her to Cuba, where she covered a Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra visit, to Nicaragua for a story on sweatshops, and to Mexico, where she photographed President Vicente Fox.
