How to Feed 12,000 People a Day......
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. A crippled economy
from decades of political chaos makes it difficult for families to afford
what food is available. Food For The Poor, a U.S. international relief and
development agency, operates a 6-day a week feeding program at its warehouse
in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. About 2,000 people line up each morning to take
home meals to feed their families. Staff members visit each family to verify
size and needs.
