Though they may have lived in the U.S. longer than
they ever did in their native land, many Mexican
nationals often prefer to be returned to their
tierra (homeland) for burial.
As a result, specialty funeral homes have emerged to
help families with the bureaucratic and transport
issues of returning their loved ones home. The process
can be long and tedious, but the torment is quickly
forgotten as friends and family rush to greet the
deceased and celebrate their afterlife.
